Buzzi Unicem has been present in Mexico since 1981 through Corporación Moctezuma, jointly owned on an equal basis with Cementos Molins (Spain).

The Company operates three state-of-the-art cement plants. The former located in Tepetzingo municipality, realized in the years 1997-1999 (production capacity 2.5 million tons/year) is the plant closest to Mexico City; the second, located in the central part of the country (San Luis Potosí) came on stream in May 2004 and was doubled in 2006 (production capacity of 2.5 million tons/year, as well); the third greenfield cement plant located in the state of Veracruz with total production capacity of 1.3 million ton/year came on stream at the end of 2010.

Corporación Moctezuma operates 57 batching plants and 2 aggregates quarries.

The company employs 1,174 people.
