On Sunday, May 25, the Buzzi Unicem plant in Barletta exceptionally opened its gates to welcome the Fortitudo Sports Association from Trani, offering everyone a day dedicated to sports, sharing, and discovery.

More than 200 participants including young athletes from the minibasket, baskin, and minivolley divisions, along with families and coaches took part in the first edition of the Fortitudo Spring Cup, a one-of-a-kind event for the Barletta community. For the occasion, the plant’s bagging department was transformed into a real sports court, hosting tournaments and activities across different disciplines.

The day began with guest registration and a welcome coffee break, followed by opening remarks from the plant director, Domenico Ingegno, who officially kicked off the event.

While the tournaments took place, younger children siblings of the athletes were able to enjoy games, entertainment, and music in a joyful, inclusive setting designed to involve the whole family.

A particularly popular feature was the plant tour aboard a tourist train, allowing children and adults alike to discover the production site up close through a simple and engaging guided route. Equipped with helmets, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests, all visitors safely experienced an immersive journey into the world of cement.

To conclude the day, small gifts were handed out a symbolic memento of a unique event that successfully brought together sport, local identity, and community spirit.
