Local schools protagonists of the "Porte Aperte" on Saturday 27th May
On Saturday 27th May, the Buzzi Unicem plant in Siniscola will open its doors to young people from schools as part of the "Porte Aperte" promoted by Federbeton Confindustria - the Federation that represents the cement and concrete supply chain - to make the communities aware of Made in Italy at the base of the buildings.
Over 100 students from ITCG Luigi Oggiano (Environmental and Territory Construction specialization) and IIS Michelangelo Pira (Nautical and Agricultural specializations) have booked their visit: the youngsters, accompanied by teachers and school principals, will visit the plant and learn more about the cycle of cement production, the topic of quarries and environmental restoration, as well as safety in the workplace.
Spotlight on innovations and materials involved in the production of a precious commodity for progress such as cement, whose supply chain employs over 34,000 people in Italy. At the end of the activities, Buzzi Unicem will offer a light lunch, prepared by ITCG Luigi Oggiano Food and Wine and Hotel Hospitality Services students.
By reserving the "Porte Aperte" space for schools, Buzzi Unicem confirms its sensitivity for the young protagonists of the community: kids who live the Sustainability issues and who will soon have to make important choices for their future.
Federbeton's "Porte Aperte" characterized the entire month of May: Buzzi Unicem inaugurated the initiative with its plant in Monselice (in the province of Padove), and then welcomed almost two hundred students at the Barletta plant.
