Last October 30th, the ICMQ (Italian Institute for Quality Control) awarded the Environmental Management System certification to the Travesio (PN) cement plant according to the UNI EN ISO 14001 standard.
Travesio thus becomes the third cement plant of the group in Italy that boasts this recognition and is presently waiting to obtain the OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) certification for Safety as well. This is another step towards the completion of the Buzzi Unicem Environment and Safety Integrated Management System, a step along the path of the bureaucratic-administrative streamlining foreseen by the new European legislation, in acknowledgement of the company objectives of eco-effectiveness and eco-compatibility.
The integrated certification, moreover, confirms the interrelationship that necessarily must exist between Environment, Health and worker Safety and allows us to refer to a single management manual and common procedures.
