Few events in the history of architecture have had such a disruptive impact as the "discovery" of concrete, which allowed the Romans to build works that we still admire today for their grandeur. Without concrete and its modern-day derivatives, driven by the ever-evolving technology, we would not be able to build towers that challenge the skies, bridges that soar in the air, or tunnels that pass through the mountains, connecting people and places.
